'Woke' US Women's Soccer Goes 'Broke' in a Stunning Way

We might just be talking about yet another example of “go woke, go broke.”

The U.S. women’s soccer team is considered the number one team in the world. They had a 44-game winning streak going into the Tokyo Olympics opening game. They were obviously a heavy favorite for the gold medal.

However, then all 22 members of the team knelt before their first game with Sweden, paying homage to the woke gods with their BLM virtue signaling.

This wasn’t the first time that they’d had such a display. In November they wore BLM shirts.

From Daily Wire:

“Today, we wear Black Lives Matter to affirm human decency. We protest against racial injustice and police brutality against Black people. We protest against the racist infrastructures that do not provide equal opportunity for Black and brown people to fulfill their dreams, including playing on this team,” the statement continued.

“As the United States Women’s National team players, we collectively work toward a society where the American ideals are upheld, and Black lives are no longer systematically targeted.”

“Black Lives Matter,” the statement concluded.

But then the game with Sweden did not end well for the U.S. women, with them being beaten, badly, by the fifth-ranked team, with a score of 3-0. It’s a team that’s given them trouble in the past, drawing with them in a game back in April, the only game the US. hadn’t won since January 2019. But this was still a huge upset loss and pretty darn embarrassing.

Megan Rapinoe described their loss this way. “We got our asses kicked, didn’t we? I thought we were a little tight, a little nervous, just doing dumb stuff.”

They’re trying to spin the loss and encourage people going forward.

You can “believe” in anything, even a Marxist group. But that doesn’t get you a win, so yes, those results matter.

Funny how when you’re focused on political stuff and dinging your country that it tends to affect you actually doing the job that you’re actually supposed to be doing. Maybe they should have concentrated on the game a bit more?
